Virtual Preschool

Zoom Circle Time is your child’s time to connect and learn! Zoom Circles will give children the space to explore together – they will sing songs together, engage in story time and have time for sharing with one another. As we move forward with the school year, Zoom Circle times might include a special guest or dance party! Zoom Circle will allow for your child to have group interactions with their teacher and classmates.

Family Lesson Plans will include fun activities for you to do with your child that encourage the development of important early childhood skills. These lesson plans will focus on all areas of the Preschool Foundations from the California Department of Education, similar to activities that would take place in preschool. Lessons will include various activities such as cooking, art making, early science and math exploration, and hand-eye coordination. Family Lesson Plans will help guide parents through “teachable moments” and questions that you and your child can explore together!

Guided Field Trips are designed to get you and your child out of the house and exploring together while working on large motor and social skills. Field trips can be taken as a family and will include an activity and questions for children and parents. You might go on a bug hunt in your neighborhood or look for airplanes at the Buchanan Airfield – or have a guided tour of the Bedford Gallery!

Parent Resource Guide will have links to play recipes, developmental articles, and other resources. As a virtual preschool family, you will have access to our parent webinars throughout the year on topics such as Toileting, Separation Anxiety, and Preparing for TK / Kindergarten.

A Preschool Virtual Classroom will be create for parents and children to explore at their own pace. Virtual Classrooms will include links to age appropriate activities and interactive, web-based materials.

Our Twos Virtual Class will meet once a week for 40 minutes each day. As a first experience with both preschool and learning in a digital space, children will engage in an interactive experience with their teacher including singing, movement, music, and storytime.

This class will engage in a variety of preschool activities including singing, dancing, movement, music, storytime, art, early math and science activities. The additional day with our Mixed Age Virtual Class will include activities that help children with early literacy and writing.

Ready, Set, Kindergarten (and TK) - Summer 2021

Our Ready, Set, Kindergarten class will meet for Zoom Circle Times twice a week for 40 minutes each day. This class will engage in a variety of preschool activities including singing, dancing, movement, music, storytime, art, early math and science activities. Our activities will focus around preparing the students for the transition to TK or Kindergarten.

Ready, Set, Go to Preschool (22-36 months) - Summer 2021

Our Ready, Set, Go to Preschool class meets for Zoom Circle Times twice a week for 30 minutes each day with a focus on supporting your toddler’s development and helping prepare children for preschool. During circle time we include a variety of activities including singing, story time, movement, dancing, art, and opportunities to practice sharing with the group. We use gestures, sign language and pictures to support the development of speech and language skills. Additional resources and suggestions for fun and educational activities to try with your toddler will be provided. This class is taught by Infant Development Specialists (IDS) from Life Steps Foundation. We welcome the participation of children of all abilities.
