Student information packets will be sent to parents before the start of preschool classes. If you have registered for the upcoming school year, you can typically expect to receive your student information packet in July for the new school year. Student packets must be returned in order for your child to attend preschool. 

Students must have the appropriate vaccinations before attending preschool. Be sure to provide your child's vaccination records with your paperwork as requested.

Fee Payment

You may pay registration fees by debit/credit card; no cash or checks.

School Year Preschool

 A $100 non-refundable fee is due at the time of preschool class registration.

Summer Preschool

A $50 non-refundable fee is due at the time of summer program registration (per session).

School Year Payments

A payment plan for class fees is available (nine monthly payments). You may pay via the payment plan by debit/credit; no cash or checks. A $100 non-refundable fee and one month's payment is due at the time of registration. The remainder of payments will automatically be charged on the first of each month beginning August 1. 

Summer Payments

 A $50 non-refundable fee and 25 percent of summer session fees are due at the time of registration. The remainder of summer fees will automatically be charged on June 1 and July 1.

We will pro-rate class fees for late registration. We will send a letter via email that details the revised payment plan.  Pro-rated tuition is based on the number of preschool days for which the student is registered.

We will not accept new students after April 1 for the current school year. 

Transfers

If you would like to transfer your child from one preschool class to another, email preschool@communityarts.org. Transfers between classes are considered before school begins.

Withdrawals

Summer Preschool Withdrawals

If you wish to withdraw from a summer preschool class, please complete the Preschool Withdrawal Form at least fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the start of class. No refunds or credits will be offered after this time. Refunds are processed within three (3) weeks. No refunds for non-attendance or lack of student participation. 

School Year Preschool Withdrawals

If you wish to withdraw, please complete the Preschool Withdrawal Form at least fourteen (14) calendar days prior to your next monthly payment (payments are processed on the 1st of each month). Your registration will be valid through the last day of the month in which you intend to withdraw and you will not be charged for the following month. We cannot provide a refund or credit for non-attendance or lack of student participation. 

Please note: No refunds or credits will be offered for partial enrollment in a month; fees will not be pro-rated based on the student’s actual final day. (Example: Payment for October is due October 1 and is non-refundable. Student’s final day must be on or prior to October 31.)

 

ANY volunteer or one-on-one aide* age 18+ who is working with youth, elderly or disabled populations (at risk or highly vulnerable populations) must comply with the City of Walnut Creek’s fingerprinting and mandated reporter training requirements. Any volunteer or aide is required to check in and check out with Walnut Creek Arts + Rec staff.

* A one-on-one aide is a person who is at a camp, class or program and only assisting with a specific participant. These aides are usually paid for and supplied by the family of the participant. This aide must show proof of fingerprinting and mandated reporter training before the start of any program they attend. Walnut Creek Arts + Rec must maintain on file contact information, emergency contact information, proof of fingerprinting clearance & certification of having successfully completed the mandated reporter training prior to the one-on-one aide being on site.

Limited Exception:
For “one off” volunteers age 18+ working in the above setting, as long as another staff member who is fingerprinted and has completed Mandated Reporter training is physically present at all times with the volunteer, that volunteer can assist for a limited amount of time.

• For example, assisting in a camp activity for 1 day, reading a story during preschool, a parent coming in to support their child during an activity, etc.

 Please be sure to review the full Arts and Rec Volunteer / Aide Protocol if you plan to volunteer or have an aide accompany your child / adult to class on a regular basis.
