Summer Camps
Summer Camp starts June 8, 2026!
Camp Community Arts offers creative arts experiences for students ages 4-14 years. Our Summer camps are held in a supportive environment with a low 1:9 staff-to-student ratio, that uses process-based learning to introduce children to new, arts-based skills.
Our staff and professional teaching artists provide individualized instruction, feedback, and critique as students learn new techniques and expand their artistic repertoire. Students will learn about artists and techniques from around the world for inspiration as they produce their own process-based artworks.
Center for Community Arts is excited to offer six unique camp experiences this summer. Learn more about each summer program below.
2026 Summer Camp Themes
This summer, we’re excited to introduce themed camp weeks that will bring an extra layer of creativity, connection, and inspiration to your child’s camp experience! Each week will feature a unique theme that ties directly into select camp curriculum, activities, and games helping campers dive deeper into their creativity while having fun and making new friends.
These thoughtfully crafted themes are designed to spark imagination, encourage personal growth, and celebrate diverse perspectives. Whether your child is exploring global cultures, discovering their inner courage, or learning to embrace change, each theme offers a meaningful framework for artistic exploration and playful learning. These themes only apply to Artist Studio and Teen Arts Studio Camps.
Camp 1 - June 8-18 | Go with the Flow
This theme celebrates adaptability, resilience, and the natural flow of creativity. It encourages campers to embrace change, stay present in the moment, and find inspiration in life’s unexpected turns. Whether in art, collaboration, or personal growth. It’s about discovering that going with the flow can lead to new ideas, fresh perspectives, and exciting creative adventures.
Camp 2 - June 22-July 2 | Things that Grow
This theme celebrates personal growth, self-discovery, and the beauty of developing skills over time. It encourages campers to nurture their passions, explore their talents, and recognize the value of patience and dedication. It’s about understanding that growth happens in many ways through challenges, curiosity, and connection, and that every young artist has the potential to flourish.
Camp 3 - July 6-17 | Spread your Wings
This theme celebrates courage, independence, and the confidence to explore new possibilities. It encourages campers to step beyond their comfort zones, take creative risks, and share their unique perspectives with the world. It’s about realizing that each new challenge is an opportunity to grow, and that self-expression can lead to soaring achievements.
Camp 4 - July 20-31 | Global Tastes and Tales
This theme celebrates cultural appreciation and the richness of shared human experiences through food, art, and storytelling. It encourages campers to explore traditions from around the world, listen to diverse voices, and find connections across cultures. It’s about understanding that creativity knows no borders and that sharing our stories can bring people together in powerful ways.
Little Artist Studio | Ages 4-5
The Little Artist Studio offers a half-day option for students entering TK and Kindergarten (4-5 years old). Students will experience a wide variety of art practices and play-based activities. A standard day at camp may look like visual-arts-themed mornings including painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture integrated with open play centers. Our 1:6 teacher to student ratio will provide arts instruction and developmental support. These camps take place at Civic Park Preschool (1395 Civic Drive, Walnut Creek, CA 94596).
Artist Studio | Ages 6-11
The Artist Studio offers half-day and full-day options for age groups 6-8 and 8-11. Students may experience visual arts themed mornings consisting of art practices like painting, drawing, printmaking, and sculpture. Full-day students may experience an afternoon of multidisciplinary arts which may include art forms such as music, theater, and digital arts. All two-week camps will occur on a block schedule of one and a half hour increments.
Teen Arts Studio | Ages 11-14
The Teen Arts Studio will bring expert arts knowledge and innovative ideas to your teen’s artistic growth in one artistic practice. Students will explore their creative expression and skills while creating new work. Individualized instruction, feedback, and critique will be provided as students learn new techniques, expand their creative repertoire, and begin to define an individualized voice and style.
Theater Camp | Ages 8-14
Theater Camp offers creative theater arts experiences for students ages 8-14. Students will journey into the world of theatre, obtaining the foundational skills necessary for any actor’s tool belt while collectively working towards writing and performing short plays. In addition, students will develop critical theatrical skills such as acting, staging, set and costume design, and so much more. Over two weeks, students will work towards putting together a performance of short plays for family and friends on stage at the Shadeland's Auditorium.
