Summer Nights: Gelli Printmaking Night

Join us for a fun evening of gelli plate printmaking! This workshop celebrates exploration, play, and sustainability as we turn everyday reusable materials into beautiful one-of-a-kind prints. Complimentary refreshments will be provided while you experiment with repurposed textures, layered color, and mark-making. During class, students will learn how to roll out ink and use a gelli plate to create layered impressions with emphasis on texture. Through guided instruction, participants will practice stenciling, masking, and printing with found objects, producing expressive monoprints using recycled materials.

The workshop will include:

  • Warm‑up exercises to get comfortable with gelli plate tools
  • Step‑by‑step demonstrations using recycled and repurposed materials as stencils and texture makers
  • Guidance on layering colors, shapes, and impressions
  • Time to create multiple finished gelli prints (approximately 5×7" and/or 5x5")
  •  Tips on continuing sustainable printmaking practices at home
