Summer Nights: Tetra Pak Printmaking Night

Tetrapak printmaking introduces students to an accessible, low‑waste method that uses repurposed food cartons as printing plates. Students will learn how to prepare plates, explore both etching and collagraph techniques, and practice pulling clean, consistent prints. This course emphasizes quick experimentation, making it easy for students to build skills and produce a series of finished prints. Students will leave with a set of unique works and the knowledge to continue the process. Drinks and light refreshments will be provided to keep you fueled as you create.

 

The workshop will include:

  • Instruction on preparing and shaping Tetrapak plates for printing
  • Demonstrations of etching, collagraph methods, and mark‑making techniques
  • Guidance on inking, pressure, and achieving crisp, detailed impressions
  • Exploration of quick experimentation to build skills and develop personal style
  • Time to create a small series of finished prints to take home

Level: Beginner friendly and welcoming to all skill levels. Perfect for anyone who wants to explore acrylic painting in a fun, relaxed setting.

Age: Ages 16+
