An introduction to the beauty, grace and discipline of ballet. Each class includes a traditional barre and center. Children will enjoy dancing to the magical music from classical ballets such as Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker. Five-year olds with one year experience are eligible to register. Ballet I is also offered as a quarterly class. Click here to see all quarterly offerings.
Designed for students wanting to continue their ballet training. Class continues with traditional barre and center work, improving technique, working on proper body alignment and an emphasis on vocabulary. Students must have completed a full year in the Ballet I level and be at least 7 years old and in the second grade. A placement class must be taken in Ballet II if a student is transferring from another dance program.
Designed for intermediate level students. Technique is strengthened along with the advancement of ballet curriculum skills. This challenging class meets twice a week and requires a commitment to regular attendance. Students must have completed a full year in Ballet II level and be at least 9 years of age. A placement class must be taken in Ballet II if a student is transferring from another dance program.
Professional Training Program in Ballet (PTP)
Considered one of the top pre-professional ballet programs in Walnut Creek, PTP is for students who are passionate about ballet, have at least a year of experience, and are age 9-19. The program is a caring, supportive community of dancers who love ballet and want to challenge themselves. All PTP instructors are teaching artists who have danced professionally, and the program is enriched by our relationship with Diablo Ballet. PTP offers both Intermediate and Advanced classes. Intermediate classes meet three days a week and advanced classes meet four days a week. Intensive training includes technique, pointe, and variations from classical and contemporary repertory. All PTP students have the opportunity to perform at the 350-seat Del Valle Theatre.
Being a part of the PTP gives dancers the self-discipline, presence, drive, and skills to confidently go after their dreams – on stage and off! Call 925-943-5846 to learn more about auditioning for the Professional Training Program.
