Kids and summer. They go together like ice cream and cherry pie. Perhaps you have fond memories of summer camps, vacations and classes from back in the day.
But too many children from low-income families fall behind each summer. There’s even a name for the phenomenon – summer learning loss – and you can learn more about it here.
That’s why we’re asking you to send a kid (or two) to Camp Community Arts. Just click here to make a donation of $300 (sponsor one camper), $150 (sponsor a camper with another donor) -- or whatever amount you choose.
Why Camp Community Arts?
See for yourself how we help young people create, build relationships, and express themselves!
Camp Community Arts offers creativity and adventure for students ages 5-14. Every day is full of activities -- a child might start their morning with stop motion animation or ceramics, spend the afternoon swimming, and end the day with African drumming and dancing.
Camp Community Arts opens doors for dozens of young people with low incomes each year. For many local children, Community Arts is the only option for a summer of learning and creativity. Give today to make camp a possibility for even more children this year.
Help us Meet the Need!
In Contra Costa County, 11% of residents live below the federal poverty level. 32% of them are children. Many families in our community can’t afford the fun and learning that so many of us take for granted, and studies have shown that summer learning loss hits low-income families hard. Children right here in our community need safe, creative summers. All too many children from low-income families will be home alone instead.
You can change that by clicking here to send a child to camp today. Don’t miss this opportunity to give young people in your community a life-changing summer experience.
